Our Story
Our story starts with our Founder, President, and CEO, Ron Mundi. After moving to Canada in 1994, Ron developed a passion for business and entrepreneurship. His journey into hospitality began when he was given the opportunity to manage the front desk of a motel in Kamloops.
In 2000, Ron took his first major step into hotel ownership, acquiring a small property in Kamloops operated by a team of just four employees. With a strong background in finance, a focus on operational excellence, and a belief in the potential of underperforming assets, he began transforming that property into a successful hotel.
That first opportunity grew into Mundi Hotel Enterprises — a hospitality company specializing in hotel ownership, operations, renovations, and development throughout Western Canada. Through strategic investments, property transformations, and strong partnerships, the company has expanded its portfolio and built a team of hundreds of dedicated hospitality professionals.

My extensive background in finance and passion for business has allowed me to achieve an impressive streak of property transformations in the tourism and accommodations sector.
Successfully owning and operating these businesses for over 30 years has allowed me many opportunities, and I have found great personal pleasure in giving back to communities.
With plentiful industry experience, an enthusiastic outlook, and interest in growth of the Hospitality Industry, I feel confident I am a valuable asset in transforming businesses in difficulty.
It is important to me to build a solid team of employees when I own a property. In 2000 when I first bought the Econolodge, I had only 4 employees. Today I have over 475 employees.
